Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim is reportedly ‘desperate’ to sell a first-team star during the January transfer window.
Amorim, 39, will see his side take on Rangers in the Europa League at Old Trafford on Thursday evening.
Of course, this comes just days after he dubbed his team the “worst team” in the club’s history following their 3-1 home defeat against Brighton last Sunday.

“In [the past] 10 games in Premier League, we won two," said Amorim. "Imagine what this is for a fan of Manchester United. Imagine what this is for me.
"We are getting a new coach who is losing more than the last coach. I have full knowledge of that.
"We are the worst team maybe in the history of Manchester United. I know you [media] want headlines but I am saying that because we have to acknowledge that and to change that. Here you go: your headlines."

However, he has since backtracked on his comments, explaining how he was “talking more for myself” in a press conference on Wednesday.
Although the Portuguese is just over two months into his tenure at United, the club’s current league position – 13th in the Premier League – is worrying and he will no doubt look to move players on and bring in personnel in the coming transfer windows.
And according to the Spanish outlet Fichajes, midfielder Casemiro, 32, has “not met the expected level” he has “generated disappointment” in both the board and coaching staff. As a result, he is linked with a potential exit from the club.

The report also suggests that his former teammate - at Real Madrid and United - Cristiano Ronaldo ‘wants him to sign’ for the Saudi Pro League side side Al-Nassr.
Caught Offside reports that United have ‘lowered their £30m asking price’ for the out-of-favour midfielder, whose contract is set to expire in June 2026. The former Porto central midfielder has played 22 times in all competitions this term.
The Brazilian was also tentatively linked with a move to Turkish outfit Besiktas – now managed by former United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
He was recently pressed on whether he would be interested in signing Casemiro and Rashford.

“I’ve come from Manchester United, so there will be transfer news like this,” explained Solskjaer when speaking with Asist Analiz. “Casemiro and Rashford are very good players, but I haven’t had any contact with them."
