Paul Scholes makes brutally honest seven-word comment about Marcus Rashford and it speaks volumes

The former Man United midfielder have his honest take on the situations.

Former Manchester United midfielder Paul Scholes has given his honest take on Marcus Rashford’s situation – and he did not hold back.

Rashford, 27, alongside Alejandro Garnacho, 20, was left out of United’s 20-man matchday squad for the 2-1 win against Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday.

Ahead of the game, Amorim explained how the decision was based on “selection” and added how he evaluates “everything”, mentioning “engagement with teammates” as a potential reason for the pairs’ omission from the squad.

Yesterday, Rashford broke his silence when speaking with journalist Henry Winter.

“For me, personally, I think I’m ready for a new challenge and the next steps,” Rashford told Winter.

“When I leave, it’s going to be ‘no hard feelings’. You’re not going to have any negative comments from me about Manchester United. That’s me as a person.

"If I know that a situation is already bad, I’m not going to make it worse. I’ve seen how other players have left in the past and I don’t want to be that person. When I leave I’ll make a statement and it will be from me."

Ruben Amorim gave an updated take on the situation when speaking in a press conference on Wednesday morning and insisted that Rashford is a “big talent” and stressed he now wants to “help” the player.

Several high-profile former United players have already voiced their thoughts on what Rashford's next steps should be, with Scholes weighing in with his verdict on Wednesday morning.

“It feels like the end for him,” Scholes said on The Overlap brought to you by Sky Bet.

“He doesn't look happy, the lad.

“Even if he's scoring a goal. You think, what's wrong with him? Is he getting the right support behind the scenes?

“You don't know what's happening. But it did happen with (Erik) ten Hag, I think he was late for a meeting before the Wolves game, and again, he's been left out of this squad. I think his on and off-the-field choices aren't quite right.”

He went on to explain how he feels a change of environment may be best for Rashford, with PSG currently the favourites to be the player’s next club. Al Ittihad have also been linked with a move for the England international
