Manchester United have been linked with a highly-rated player who could replace Marcus Rashford as soon as January - and he even has Kylian Mbappe’s approval.
Rashford, 27, was left out of United’s matchday squad – alongside Alejandro Garnacho – by Ruben Amorim for the 2-1 win against Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
The United boss put his decision down to “selection”.

“We try to evaluate everything, training performance, game performances, engagement with team-mates, push their team-mates up,” Amorim told Sky Sports ahead of kick-off.
“Everything is on the line when we analyse and try to choose the players. It is my selection. Simple.”
Since his omission from the squad, the England international has been linked with a potential transfer to various elite European clubs as well as a move to Saudi Arabian side Al-Ittihad.

Rashford finally broke his silence on the situation when speaking to journalist Henry Winter yesterday.
The 27-year-old revealed how being left out was “disappointing” and even hinted that he was “ready for a new challenge and next steps”.
But if he were to leave, United would need a replacement, possibly as soon as January.

The club could sign PSG and France forward Randal Kolo Muani, with French outlet Le 10 Sport reporting that United expressed interest in the player last month.
L’Equipe also claimed that the Paris-based club have ‘cleared a January departure’ after the player has fallen out of favour with PSG boss Luis Enrique.
Kolo Muani, 26, joined the Parisians from Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt in a £76.4 m deal (according to BBC Sport) in the summer of 2023 but has failed to justify the hefty price tag, scoring just 11 times in 54 appearances for the French champions.
However, Real Madrid star and international teammate Mbappe praised Kolo Muani after he impressed in France’s 4-0 win against Holland back in March 2023.

“He [Kolo Muani] is a striker who offers different game options to our team,” Mbappe said.
“He is very complete and has an impressive volume of play.”
The PSG forward is contracted to the club until June 2028 and is valued at around €30m (£24.7m) by Transfermarkt.
