AC Milan may be ‘unable’ to sign Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford due to a rule, according to reports.
Rashford, 27, is seemingly on his way out of United, having fallen out of favour with Ruben Amorim.
The England international was initially left out of United’s 20-man matchday squad for their 2-1 Manchester derby win against Manchester City on December 15.

He was then omitted from a further three squads for the games against Tottenham, Bournemouth, and Wolves before being named on the bench for the 2-0 defeat against Newcastle on December 30.
Of course, just days after he was left out of the squad for the fixture against City he spoke to journalist Henry Winter and explained he was “ready for a new challenge”.
"For me, personally, I think I'm ready for a new challenge and the next steps,” Rashford told Winter.

Since then, he has failed to make an appearance in any of United’s games and has been linked with a move away from his boyhood club.
According to The Athletic, Barcelona are “monitoring the situation” of the United man, as club executives "had a meeting" in Portugal on Tuesday to discuss a potential deal.
Borussia Dortmund have also “approached” United to enquire about a potential loan deal as per Sky Sports News. While AC Milan have “turned their focus” to Manchester City right-back Kyle Walker.
Walker, 34, was appointed as the Premier League champions’ captain at the start of the season but now opted to move on from the club.

Sky Sports Italy reports that Walker will join Milan on loan with the Serie A side having an option to buy the player for £4.2m. Fabrizio Romano also confirmed the news via X.
He wrote: "AC Milan have agreed deal to sign Kyle Walker from Man City, here we go! Loan move with buy option clause not mandatory, salary covered by AC Milan with contract agreed.
"Travel and medical being planned.

"Manchester City’s captain ready for new chapter."
The writing appeared to be on the wall when Pep Guardiola issued an update on Walker's situation earlier this month.
"Two days ago, Kyle asked to explore the options to play abroad at the end of his career,” revealed Guardiola.
“In his [Walker’s] mind, he would like to explore it, to go to another country, to play the last years [somewhere else] for many reasons.”

As one door opens for Walker, this may hamper Rashford’s chances of moving to Milan, as the Mirror reports that he has been “snubbed” with the seven-time European champions preferring to bring in Walker.
The 34-year-old will no doubt be welcomed to Italy by his counterparts Fikayo Tomori, Tammy Abraham and Ruben Loftus-Cheek.
The reports claim that Serie A rules state that clubs can only sign one British player a year, meaning they would have to choose between Walker and Rashford.
