The immediate future of Erik ten Hag is arguably the biggest talking point in football right now as those behind the scenes at Manchester United prepare to make a crucial decision.
Ten Hag's fate will be decided at a long-standing meeting in London on Tuesday as members of the club's executive committee, including Sir Jim Ratcliffe, will have their say on the under-fire manager.
Ruud van Nistelrooy, who recently returned to Old Trafford as an assistant coach, would be offered the manager's job on an interim basis if Ten Hag is dismissed, according to The Mirror.

It has been a poor start to the campaign for United, who have picked up just two wins from their opening seven Premier League games, but Ten Hag's future has been a discussion point for some months.
United spoke to a number of high-profile candidates during a strategic review this summer, including Mauricio Pochettino, Marco Silva and Thomas Tuchel, who was previously 'first in line' to take the job.
Tuchel's name has once again been thrown around in recent weeks but at this stage, the former Chelsea and Bayern Munich manager has not been approached by United about the role.

That's according to Sky Sports, who suggest Tuchel 'has not received any formal communication yet' to succeed Ten Hag at Old Trafford.
The Dutchman, meanwhile, is under the impression that he retains the backing of United's hierarchy.
At the end of last month, Erik ten Hag responded to questions around his immediate future following the club's humiliating 3-0 defeat to Tottenham.

"I'm not thinking about being sacked," he said. "We all made this decision to stay together in the summer, as an ownership group, leadership group.
"Also we made the decision, after a clear review, what we have to improve as an organisation and how to construct a squad.
Ten Hag added: "All decisions are made in togetherness, also knowing it would take some time. We are all there on one page, one boat, the ownership, the leadership group, the staff and players too."
