Manchester United are paying Sporting an extra £2 million after striking a deal to appoint Ruben Amorim as their next manager.
Amorim is on the verge of replacing Erik ten Hag following his dismissal.
He took charge of his current side's cup tie against Nacional on Tuesday, where he was given a warm reception by the home fans.

Amorim is set to take charge of Sporting until the international break, which includes a Champions League clash against Manchester City.
Ruud van Nistelrooy, meanwhile, will oversee Man United on an interim basis.
He guided his side to the next round of the Carabao Cup following a big 5-2 victory over Leicester City on Wednesday.

Amorim is set to be appointed ahead of the Red Devils' league match against Ipswich Town on November 24 and is expected to sign a two-and-a-half-year contract with the option of another year.
Man United have agreed to pay over £10 million in compensation to Sporting as well as an extra payment of almost £2 million above Amorim's release clause in his contract.
According to the Telegraph Sport, the extra money is believed to cover the release of Amorim's backroom staff to work alongside him at Old Trafford.

Per the report, Sporting have also been demanding money to cover allowing Amorim to leave without the required 30-day notice period written in his contract. The extra payment would also cover that.
Amorim could bring as many as five staff members with him to Old Trafford, including assistants Carlos Fernandes, Adelio Candido and Emanuel Ferro, goalkeeping coach Jorge Vital and fitness coach Paulo Barreira.
Considering the number of people Amorim wants to bring with him, it appears unlikely Van Nistelrooy will remain at Man United, having returned to the club during the summer as an assistant manager.
