Jamie Carragher issued a brutal response to Ruben Amorim's "ridiculous" comment following Manchester United's 3-1 defeat to Brighton on Sunday.
The Red Devils had looked like they might have turned a corner with impressive back-to-back away performances at Liverpool and Arsenal, before they came from behind to beat bottom club Southampton 3-1 on Thursday.
However United were once again thoroughly outplayed by Brighton in their latest game at Old Trafford. and have now won just two games in their last 10 Premier League fixtures.

"We are getting a new coach who is losing more than the last coach," he said in his press conference. I have full knowledge of that.
"We are the worst team maybe in the history of Manchester United. I know you [media] want headlines but I am saying that because we have to acknowledge that and to change that. Here you go: your headlines."

The comments caused a stir and on Sky Sports' Monday Night Football, Carragher did not pull any punches.
The former Liverpool defender took issue with Amorim's remarks and suggested that Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS will have spoken to him about what he said publicly.
Carragher stated: "I don't know why he said that. He had like a smirk on his face when he said it - he almost knew the magnitude of his words.

"I don't know what he's trying to do. Manchester United lost a game at home to Brighton, we've just done a graphic - they've done it two years in a row.
"For the manager to make a statement like that, I don't feel for the players because half of them are a joke anyway but I'd be very surprised if the powers that be above him aren't having a strong word with him. You don't speak like that as a Manchester United manager."
Amorim also worried fans in his post-match interview when he said he isn't going to change his style and admitted that the players and the supporters are "going to suffer" before they improve again.
