Man Utd 'source' claims Ruben Amorim damaged property in furious dressing room outburst after Brighton defeat

Man Utd 'source' claims Ruben Amorim damaged property in furious dressing room outburst after Brighton defeat

Amorim had just watched his side lose 3-1 to Brighton and Hove Albion at Old Trafford.

A Manchester United source has claimed manager Ruben Amorim 'damaged property' during a dressing room rant after his side lost 3-1 to Brighton on Sunday.

United suffered their fourth defeat in six matches at Old Trafford, which was a reverse scoreline of their comeback 3-1 victory over Southampton the previous Wednesday.

Yankuba Minteh put Brighton ahead in the first half before United captain Bruno Fernandes equalised from the penalty spot.

But Kaoru Mitoma restored the visitors' advantage, before Georginio Rutter capitalised on an error from goalkeeper Andre Onana to make it 3-1.

Amorim made his feelings clear publicly about the performance, stating that his current are being 'the worst team maybe in the history of Manchester United'.

And according to a new report by The Athletic, he also made his feelings known to his players inside the home dressing room at Old Trafford.

An anonymous source claims that, during his team talk, Amorim caused damage to the big screen television in the dressing room.

It is claimed that the TV, which is used to go through tactics before kick-off, was 'caught as collateral', though will be fixed in time for the Europa League clash against Rangers on Thursday.

An anonymous dressing room source, meanwhile, told the Daily Mail that Amorim was 'not angry' after the defeat but 'just very, very sad'.

They added: "The players noticed it. They know it's not his fault."

Speaking to MUTV after the game, Amorim stated that he would continue to stick by his own tactical principles - even if both United players and fans will have to endure some short-term suffering as he attempts to push his 13th-placed side up the Premier League table.

He explained: "I'm not going to change the way I see the game. I'm very clear on that. The players are going to suffer, I'm really sorry, the fans are going to suffer.

"I have one way of doing things. I know it's going to bring results, but we have to suffer these moments. I think it's very clear for everybody what we are going to do."
