Casemiro's first reaction to finding out his big-money wage at Manchester United was to tell a Real Madrid teammate, according to a new report.
On the afternoon of August 22, 2022 – after United agreed to sign the player from Real Madrid in a deal worth up to £70 million – the Brazilian midfielder penned a four-year contract at Old Trafford
It came just weeks after the experienced midfielder sent a message to his agent that read, "Tell them I’ll fix this”, as he watched Erik ten Hag's suffer an embarrassing 4-0 defeat to Brentford.

A report from The Telegraph claimed the shambolic performance only enhanced his desire to join United.
In fact, the Brazilian had become 'fixated' on the deal and negotiations would accelerate when club officials from the Premier League side travelled to Madrid to complete the transfer.
Over dinner, Madrid officials are said to have given Casemiro a final chance to reconsider but he wanted to join United, who are said to have offered the player a huge wage.

In fact, after Cristiano Ronaldo's departure later that year, the 31-year-old became United's highest earner on around £350,000-a-week, say The Mail.
Such was the amount, Casemiro was understandably taken aback by an offer that was going to double his weekly wage.
That's according to another report from the The Mail, who say the story goes that midfielder's first reaction was to tell a Real Madrid teammate: "I can't believe how much they are going to pay me."
After an impressive first season at United, where he played 51 games in all competitions, Casemiro has been heavily linked with a move away from Old Trafford following a lack of first-team minutes and form.

In fact, earlier this month, it was claimed that the midfielder has already decided which club he wants to join as his reported transfer 'desire' was revealed.
According to widespread reports, United are open to selling when the transfer window reopens in January.
And amid ongoing speculation surrounding his uncertain future, he reportedly has a 'big desire' to join Bayern Munich, says Brazilian journalist Jorge Nicola.
