A Manchester United 'Legends' XI has supporters on social media scratching their heads - as three players who've never represented the club feature.
The Legend’s Football League in Dubai launched over the weekend and a team called the 'Steel Doctor Red Devils' took to the field.
Full of United legends from the past, they were beaten 8-3 by a World XI at Al Nasr's Al Maktoum Stadium.

Before the game, the squad posed for pictures posted to former United captain Antonio Valencia's Instagram.
There are some familiar names the Old Trafford faithful will recognise. Alongside Valencia are Dimitar Berbatov, Patrice Evra, Wes Brown, Dwight Yorke and Mikael Silvestre.
Danny Simpson and Eric Djemba-Djemba were also in the team, although describing the duo as legends might be a stretch. At least they've represented Manchester United.

It's worth stressing at this point that other than wearing United kits, there is no official mention of the club in any marketing materials for the game.
On the far right is Wes Morgan, who captained Leicester City to Premier League glory in 2016. He played against United several times in his career but never played for them.
Located in the middle crouched down is Nathan Dyer. Another Premier League winner with the Foxes, he also represented Swansea City in the English top-flight.

Bizarrely, it's Brazil icon Julio Cesar behind Yorke in the goalkeeper shirt.
Cesar made his name at Inter Milan, even winning the Champions League in 2010.
His spell in England came with Queens Park Rangers.

The World XI didn't disappoint when it came to big names. No wonder they dominated the game.
Michel Salgado, Robert Pires, Samir Nasri, David Trezeguet and Rivaldo featured. Clarence Seedorf picked up the Player of the Match award.
The Legend's Football League resumes in India in January 2024.
