Manchester United have made a decision on Anthony Martial's contract situation.
Back in 2019, the France international penned a new five-year deal at the club under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
Those terms are due to expire in the summer but the contract contained a clause whereby United would have the option to extend for an extra year until 2025.
However, David Ornstein of The Athletic reports that United do not intend to trigger the extension and are prepared to let him leave for nothing at the end of the 2023/24 campaign.

Martial signed for United as a teenager back in 2015 in a £36 million deal that could rise to £58 million.
He scored on his debut against Liverpool and has gone on to find the net a further 89 times in all competitions across 317 appearances.
The former Monaco man's last big Old Trafford deal came when he had six months remaining but United did take up the option to extend.

This time around, though, it does not look like history will repeat itself.
This season Martial hasn't completed a full game for Erik ten Hag and only seven of his 19 appearances have been starts.
The latest was in the 3-0 humbling at the hands of Bournemouth, with the ineffective Frenchman replaced by Rasmus Hojlund in the second half in a decision that brought the loudest cheer of the game from the home supporters.

Martial's time at United has been plagued by injuries and inconsistency. His best goalscoring campaign was in the 2019/20 season and he ended up on loan at Sevilla not too long after.
Three "realistic" clauses worth £21.6 million were placed in Martial's United deal by Monaco but only two have been activated eight years.
United paid an extra £7.2 million to Monaco for Martial scoring 25 league goals for them between 2015 and 2019.

But the other two, which hinged on Martial being capped 25 times by France and winning the Ballon d'Or, do not look like they will be met.
