One former Manchester United star has been spotted liking an Instagram post confirming the sacking of Erik ten Hag.
It didn't come as much as a surprise to see Ten Hag out the door at Old Trafford, as United sit 14th in the Premier League table following their worst ever start to a season.
United have also failed to make a mark in the European scene despite now being in the Europa League, with no wins in their first three European outings.

On Monday morning, the club announced the departure of Ten Hag following statement to confirm the news: "Erik ten Hag has left his role as Manchester United men’s first-team manager.
"Erik was appointed in April 2022 and led the club to two domestic trophies, winning the Carabao Cup in 2023 and the FA Cup in 2024.
"We are grateful to Erik for everything he has done during his time with us and wish him well for the future.
"Ruud van Nistelrooy will take charge of the team as interim head coach, supported by the current coaching team, whilst a permanent head coach is recruited."

Following the announcement, eagle-eyed fans noticed one former player who previously came to blows with Ten Hag liking the post.
The player in question is the recently retired Raphael Varane, who's instagram activity failed to go under the radar.
One fan shared a screengrab showing Varane's like on X, with the captain: "Always loved Varane."

According to The Daily Mail via GOAL, Ten Hag and Varane's relationship completely collapsed after the World Cup winner was benched for Jonny Evans for the Manchester Derby.
The report claimed the pair came to blows following the decision, with Varane feeling undervalued by the coach.
Varane has now retired completely from football despite only moving to Como in the summer.

He told Como’s official X account in September: "In my career I have taken on many challenges, rose to occasion after occasion, almost all of it was supposed to be impossible. Reflecting on these moments, it is with immense pride and a feeling of fulfilment that I am announcing my retirement from the game that we all love.
“I hold myself to the highest standard, I want to go out strong, not just holding on to the game. It takes a big dose of courage to listen to your heart and your instinct. I have fallen and risen a thousand times, and this time, it’s the moment to stop and hang my boots up with my final game winning a trophy at Wembley.
"I have defended every badge with everything I have, and loved every minute of the journey.
“I will remain with Como. Just without using my boots and shin pads. Something I am looking forward to sharing more about soon.
