Manchester United midfielder Kobbie Mainoo is set to be rewarded for his stellar form on the pitch with a new contract which will see him triple his wages.
It has been a difficult season for United in Erik ten Hag's second campaign in charge at Old Trafford, which has failed to see the Reds build on what was a positive first campaign under the Dutchman.
United finished third in the Premier League, won the League Cup and were runners-up in the FA Cup, but have regressed dramatically this campaign.

Ten Hag's side finished bottom of their Champions League group and face an uphill fight to be in Europe's top club competition next season, due to currently being sixth in the Premier League.
United returned to winning ways in the Premier League on Saturday after back-to-back defeats against Fulham and Manchester City with a 2-0 victory at Old Trafford against Everton, thanks to penalties from Bruno Fernandes and Marcus Rashford.
The major positives for United this season have been the performances of the youngsters, principally midfielder Kobbie Mainoo, attacker Alejandro Garnacho and striker Rasmus Hojlund.

Mainoo has established himself as a first choice selection in central midfield and scored twice this season, including a memorable late winner in a 4-3 thriller at Molineux against Wolves.
United legend Wayne Rooney is very complementary of the teenager and believes he has a bright future.
Speaking to TNT Sports as a pundit, Rooney said: "I think he’s been incredible at such a young age.

"The maturity he’s shown, when you see any young player break into the first team, they can seem a bit raw but he reminds me of a young Bastian Schweinsteiger in how he plays, enticing players in, he always seems to make the right decisions. I think he’s got a really bright future."
And Mainoo's quality has certainly not gone unnoticed by the Old Trafford hierarchy, who are set to reward the midfielder for his form.
According to the Daily Mirror, United will treble his wages to £60,000 a week and open talks over extending his time at Old Trafford to 2030.
Mainoo's current deal at United runs until the summer of 2027, with the option of a further 12 months, but the Old Trafford club appear keen to tie him down to revised terms, which would also reportedly include several triggers which could one day see him among the club's top earners.
