Manchester United are set to reward midfielder Kobbie Mainoo with a new bumper deal following his strong start in the senior squad.
The 18-year-old was handed his first team debut by United boss Erik ten Hag in January 2023 and is now going from strength-to-strength in the first team after seeing his minutes increased across the 2023/24 campaign.
Mainoo has started eight Premier League games so far this season, with his latest outing arriving against Wolverhampton Wanderers on Wednesday.

After conceding a 95th minute equaliser to Portuguese international Pedro Neto, it looked as if United would be walking away from the Molineux Stadium with a point after throwing away a two goal first half lead.
However, Mainoo would then pick the ball up outside the area, beat several opponents and curl his effort into the far right corner, to give United the lead in the 97th minute.
The goal itself - although it was an important one - is just a fraction of what Mainoo offers in the first-team squad, after regularly displaying experience beyond his years both in and out of possession.

Which is exactly why the club are eager to tie the young midfielder down to a new-long term deal.
According to the Daily Mail, United will wait until the current campaign is concluded before negotiating new terms with Mainoo and his representatives.
It will keep him in line with United's policy towards rising academy stars, with Alejandro Garnacho and Mason Greenwood offered similar deals in recent years.

It is a decision both the fanbase and dressing room will be in full support of, after his teammate Rasmus Hojlund waxed lyrical about the 'generation' talent Mainoo is.
"We have a generational talent in Kobbie Mainoo," he said.
"You can see his composure, he is so relaxed on the ball. Now he's also starting to show that he has the scoring part of his game as well. He's a complete player.
"Us young guys, we have a little group and we're chatting to each other. Hopefully we can set an era for the club and be here many years together."
