The five most likely candidates to replace Erik ten Hag at Manchester United have been ranked.
After another poor start to the season, Dutchman Ten Hag is under increasing pressure to turn things around.
On Wednesday night, United were booed off the pitch at both half-time and full-time as they fell to a dismal 3-0 defeat against Newcastle United in the Carabao Cup.
As a result of the defeat against the Magpies, the odds of Ten Hag being the next manager in the Premier League to lose his job have been slashed.

We have decided to rank the five most likely candidates to replace Ten Hag.
1. Zinedine Zidane
Frenchman Zidane has been out of a job since leaving Real Madrid back in 2021. During his time in charge of Los Blancos, Zidane led the team to three Champions Leagues in a row.
Despite being the bookies favourite to take over at United after Ten Hag, Zidane has already made his feelings clear on his next move.

2. Graham Potter
Potter earned himself a shot at Chelsea after impressing at Brighton and Hove Albion. However, he was dismissed by the Stamford Bridge club in April and has been looking for a new job ever since.
Potential new investor Sir Jim Ratcliffe has previously shown interest in Potter and could bring him to Old Trafford if his deal gets the go-ahead.

3. Julian Nagelsmann
Nagelsmann is one of the highest-rated managers in Europe after his work with RB Leipzig.
However, his spell with Bayern Munich was cut short after a string of disappointing results.
Now in charge of the German international team, Nagelsmann could potentially be lured away by the prospect of working in the Premier League.

4. Roberto De Zerbi
Another Brighton manager who has impressed since joining the Premier League, De Zerbi took over from Potter and arguably made them a better side.
On the back of his work with Brighton, he has been tipped to replace Pep Guardiola at Manchester City and has now been linked with United too.

5. Michael Carrick
Former United midfielder Carrick took charge of the team on a temporary basis after Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was sacked in 2021.
The Englishman then took charge of Middlesbrough, taking them to the play-offs last season. This season, he has endured a tough start with Boro currently in 10th place in the Championship table.
