A supercomputer has predicted the final Premier League table and Manchester United are tipped to have their worst finish in 30 years.
United edged past Luton 1-0 at the weekend and despite a dismal start to the campaign, Erik ten Hag’s men are currently one of the Premier League’s in-form teams.
While the Old Trafford club are sitting in sixth, Ten Hag insisted this weekend the club was in a “very good position” for a top-four finish, having won four of their last five league games.

He said in the wake of the Luton victory: “Even after all the setbacks we dealt with, we are still in a position near the top four and when we start to play well and get a team that is set for weeks and months [then maybe] other teams will get their setbacks and drop points.
“Now we have won four games out of five in the Premier League, we are in quite a good position if you see all the trouble we had, we are in a very good position. That is a reason to be optimistic.”
However, Bettingexpert's supercomputer BETSIE ran its algorithm and has predicted the club will finish in an underwhelming eighth place. That would equate to United’s worst finish for more than 30 years.
Elsewhere, Tottenham, who have now lost back-to-back games against Chelsea and Wolverhampton Wanderers, have been tipped to fall behind the likes of Manchester City, Arsenal and Liverpool in the table.

Spurs are currently fourth in the table - just two points off the top and some quarters have argued they could spring a surprise title charge under Ange Postecoglou.
However, BETSIE has predicted the club will plummet before eventually finishing seventh.
Mauricio Pochettino is beginning to turn Chelsea's fortunes around and their 4-4 draw to Man City has convinced the AI the club will come sixth - an improvement on last season.
Meanwhile, Newcastle, who fell to a 2-0 defeat to Bournemouth on Saturday night, are still expected to claim a top-four spot for the second season in succession.

Aston Villa who have enjoyed a fantastic start to the season are predicted to finish in fifth place.
There has been no change at the bottom with Burnley, Luton and Sheffield United still predicted to go down while Manchester City and Arsenal are tipped to finish in the top two, as they did last year.
