The 'new' Wembley is as enchanting an arena as you will find in the modern game and every big-game occasion there since its opening is always made to feel like an incredible spectacle.
The walk up Wembley Way to the arch captivates you unlike any other ground in world football.
In terms of occasions, nothing feels quite as grand as preparing to watch the finest teams in the country go at it in front of 90,000 supporters and that's exactly what we were treated to last weekend in the form of the FA Cup final. Manchester United's 2-1 victory over bitter rivals Manchester City offered the nation's stadium a thrilling 90 minutes of pulsating action and best-in-class entertainment.

'Best in class' is apt to describe the pre and post-match experience inside Club Wembley's famous Bobby Moore Lounge.
Upon entry to the lounge, named after the England icon who lifted the 1966 World Cup, several hosts greet you with a smile and excellent service. They waste no time fulfilling your every request, with a glass of champagne on entry and any other drinks you require delivered to your table. Premium wines, beers and lagers, as well as soft drinks on offer. A selection of artisan breads make their way around the room, which fills up and bubbles with excitement.
Reading a selection of top-quality dishes will make your mouth water. I started with the London Smokehouse Duck, which went down a treat. By this point, the lounge is buzzing for the match as rumours of the team news bounce from table to table.

Each table has comfortable chairs, perfect to kick back in and read the commemorative match programme for each guest at Club Wembley.
The main course is next in the form of Surf n' Turf; on top of the smoked British chateaubriand is a prawn ravioli and peppercorn sauce. A twist on a classic.
For dessert, I had an Opera Gateau, a layered almond sponge cake in rich coffee syrup, topped with coffee buttercream. All food exceeded already sky-high expectations and truly lived up to its best-in-class billing.

Ahead of the match, two footballing legends took part in an engaging Q&A session about City and United's respective seasons, as well as their careers at each club. Ex-City midfielder Peter Reid talked at length about the impact Jeremy Doku would have off the bench, and former United defender Steve Bruce predicted a 2-1 win for his old side. Proof that the two icons had a clue what they were talking about.
The Club Wembley experience reminds you that it's all about adding to the football. It hits home when you step into the stadium and sit in your chair. We were treated to a perfect view of both sides of the pitch as United and City fans battled with their duelling chants and besides, there's not much more you can ask for than to be sat next to Erik ten Hag or Pep Guardiola in their respective dugouts.
Half-time offered the opportunity for light refreshments and a chicken and mushroom pie, needed after seeing United race into a 2-0 lead.

All that remained was the last 45 minutes of action, yet again baked in the London sun. United survived a late scare and as the players passed by en route to collecting the trophy, you could tell they'd given their all.
A final return to the Bobby Moore Lounge and greeting from the exemplary hosts saw our table decorated with hand-selected cheeses, crackers and grapes. I departed Club Wembley feeling my experience of football's grandest cup competition enhanced, fulfilling and above all else, spectacular.
