Fans spot major error in Man City season plan ‘leaked’ online by Ruben Dias

Fans spot major error in Man City season plan ‘leaked’ online by Ruben Dias

Man City are gearing up for a busy season.

Fans have spotted a strange mistake in the season plan 'leaked' by Manchester City star Ruben Dias.

Manchester City are gearing up for what could be yet another record-breaking campaign.

Last season Pep Guardiola's side won a record fourth successive Premier League title, and this term they are looking to extend that record to five.

Having completed a pre-season tour in the United States, City will kick-off the 2024-25 campaign on Saturday with a Community Shield clash against neighbours Manchester United at Wembley.

Eight days later City will begin their Premier League title defence with a trip to London to face Chelsea, before they dive straight into a gruelling schedule packed with league, Champions League and domestic cup commitments.

City played 59 matches last season, but the expanded Champions League - teams will play eight matches in the 'league' phase rather than the previous six - means they could play even more this term.

Guardiola and City star Rodri have previously voiced their concerns about the impacts such busy schedules have on player welfare and the risks of injury.

The busy workload of City's stars was laid bare by a photo defender Ruben Dias shared on X on Wednesday evening.

The Portuguese centre-back shared a photo of a presentation slide showing City's fixture schedule for the season, with the caption: "POV: You play for City [sweating emoji]."

While fans understood Dias' message, they also notice a major error on City's schedule.

The Schedule has the Community Shield meeting with United listed as taking place on Sunday, August 11, whereas it is actually taking place on Saturday, August 10.

Fans also noticed that, for some reason, the Europa League and Conference League match-days were included on the schedule, even though City will be playing in the Champions League for the 14th consecutive season.

Hopefully City realise that the United match is on Saturday, rather than Sunday...
