A goal from Phil Foden in Manchester City's 3-1 win over Brentford ensured that a new Premier League record was set for most goals in a gameweek on Monday evening.
Foden netted a superb hat-trick either side of half-time to ensure that City came from behind to beat the Bees at the Brentford Community Stadium.
The England international scored his first goal in first half stoppage time, completing a one-two with Erling Haaland before slotting the ball beyond Brentford goalkeeper Mark Flekken.

In the process, Foden netted the 45th goal of the Premier League gameweek, beating the previous record of 44 that was set in September 2020, and then equalled in May 2023.
And while the feat was certainly impressive, what was perhaps more impressive was that Foden was also involved in the game - with the same scoreline - that set the 44-goal record in 2020.
Foden netted City's opener in their 3-1 away win at Wolves, which also saw Kevin De Bruyne get on the scoresheet in the first half.

Raul Jimenez pulled one back for Wolves, before Gabriel Jesus made it 3-1 late on to secure a piece of Premier League history - for a few years at least.
City, of course, went on to win the title that year by 12 points, and fans will be hoping that history very much repeats itself this term amid strong competition from both Liverpool and Arsenal.
Speaking to Sky Sports after the Brentford victory on Monday, Foden said: "I'm really glad with my performances and am playing a lot of minutes inside, where I want to be, and I'm delighted with the way I'm playing.

"I'm playing the best form I've had in a City shirt consistently for a long time and long may that continue, and I will keep working hard on the training ground."
