Micah Richards has made a shock revelation about Joleon Lescott's infamous car tweet sent after Aston Villa were destroyed 6-0 by Liverpool.
Back in February 2016, Lescott drew furious backlash from Villa supporters after a picture of his car was posted on his official Twitter account following the hammering.
The car in question was a luxury new silver Mercedes-AMG S63 Coupe worth £120,000 and there was no caption, context or explanation.
After being branded "disrespectful", the former England international issued an apology and claimed that the tweet was actually sent from his pocket while he was driving.

In a statement, Lescott said: “I would like to add that the tweet sent out from my account involving a picture of a car was totally accidental. It happened whilst driving and my phone was in my pocket.”
The incident still sticks with Lescott to this day and he regularly gets asked about it.
But in a new twist, Richards has admitted that he was with Lescott when the post went live.

The two were both at Villa at the time and driving home back to Manchester from the game.
His version of events aligns with those of Lescott's, with Richards telling the Rest is Football podcast: "We play Liverpool and we get absolutely spanked 6-0. I think I was at fault for about three of the goals.
"That tweet, I was actually in the car when Joleon sent that tweet. The thing is, he is actually telling the truth.
"How he described it was something ridiculous - he's sent it from his pocket and he didn't know it went out.

"But if you remember Twitter back in the day, the last picture in your photos - if you went on Twitter and press a button that picture would be on.
"It must have been ready to send and he's put it in his pocket and he's accidentally sent the tweet.
"Joleon used to have a car company and he used to give us cars for good prices, like lease deals.
"In the picture was a S63 Coupe, all singing, all dancing and top of the range. It was offered to the lads. That's the picture which went out."

The tweet is still up to this day, with Lescott maintaining the same stance whenever quizzed.
