A detail of Manchester City's new home kit has been lambasted following their Community Shield success.
Pep Guardiola's side needed a penalty shootout to beat crosstown rivals Manchester United as they began their 2024/25 campaign with more silverware.
City had Bernardo Silva to thank after his extra-time equaliser, after Alejandro Garnacho had opened the scoring for United.

Silva had his penalty saved in the shootout, but Ederson came to the rescue before Manuel Akanji scored the decisive kick in a 7-6 win.
The Sky Blues begin their Premier League campaign with a trip to Stamford Bridge as they face Chelsea next weekend.
But it was their new home kit which garnered plenty of attention at Wembley Stadium, with the font used on the back of City's blue shirts drawing criticism from fans online.

While the font will not be used in the Premier League, supporters questioned the club's choice.
"Are the City shirt names/numbers written in Comic Sans? They look absolutely awful," wrote one fan.
"State of the font on City’s shirt. 116 charges," added another.
"Nine minutes into the new season and I'm getting annoyed by the choice of font on the back of City's shirts. I may need to pace myself here," said another supporter.

"Still flabbergasted that an actual human adult has signed off on that horrific font City are using this season, it’s giving me Comic Sans PTSD," wrote another angry fan on X.
Labelled 'tragic' and 'appalling' it has emerged Noel Gallagher's influence is something to do with the chosen font.
City unveiled their club font for the upcoming season earlier this summer and the handwriting on each shirt is that of the former Oasis guitarist.

Gallagher is of course a huge City fan but his latest collaboration with the club hasn't gone done well.
Despite the silverware, it's not an ideal start to the new campaign for City's marketing team that's for sure...
