A popular member of Manchester City's backroom staff has announced his departure from the Premier League champions on the same morning as the start of the club's 115 charges hearing.
City kitman Brandon Ashton, who was previously described as the "heart and soul of the dressing room" by former captain Vincent Kompany, has announced he is leaving the club.
Ashton took to social media to confirm his departure, posting a heartfelt message to the club's supporters, as well as players, managers and other staff he had worked alongside at the Etihad.

"After 15 years at Manchester City I have decided to leave my role at the club to explore other career paths," he posted on Instagram.
"I have had some great experiences, met some amazing people who I know will be friends for life. For me and my family I feel it is the right time to start a new chapter, and see what new challenges I can be set.
"I will always hold Manchester City close to my heart as this club has brought me from a boy to a man. The memories I have over my time at City will forever be cherished.

"Best guy ever!! You will be missed brother," added Jack Grealish.
While former City star Cole Palmer replied with an unusual nickname for Ashton, commenting: "Bollock chops", followed by a love-heart emoji.
Ashton's announcement coincidentally comes on the same morning as the start of City's long-awaited 115 Premier League charges hearing.

The charges mainly relate to a nine-year period from 2009 to 2018, with City accused of various alleged rule breaches - all of which the club strenuously deny.
City's hearing is expected to last around two months and will be overseen by an independent commission. A final outcome to the case - including any potential appeal - is not expected to be reached until next summer.
