Two of the Premier League's fastest players went head-to-head during Saturday afternoon's clash between Manchester City and Fulham – and it made for fascinating viewing.
Since bursting onto the scene, former Sheffield United and Tottenham defender Kyle Walker has recorded some of the quickest sprint speeds in English top flight history.
In fact, only Spurs centre-back Micky van de Ven has beaten Walker's lightning-quick time of 37.31 km/h since the 2020/21 season began.

Adama Traore, meanwhile, is widely regarded as one of the quickest in the world over a short distance, and has previously recorded a speed of 36.60 km/h, according to Speedsbd.
So who wins in a foot race? Well, in the 67th minute of this weekend's Premier League clash at the Etihad, it was Traore who came out on top.
As you can see in the footage above, Walker was given a head start over Traore but the Spaniard glided past his opponent before being met with a one-on-one opportunity in front of goal.

Unfortunately for the travelling Fulham fans, Traore's tame effort was saved by Ederson as City maintained their slender one-goal advantage.
Here's how fans on social media reacted to the race.
One said: "The way Adama Traoré left Kyle Walker there was astonishing. Walker had a head start too. Adama is a scary athlete."
A second commented: "People making it sound like Adama wouldn't do this to any version of Walker," and a third wrote: "Ooft Traore left Walker in the mud there. Insane pace,"

A fourth said: "According to data at the club, Akanji is our fastest player and Walker being burnt by Traore there might have just proved it."
A fifth added: "First time seeing Walker burnt by a winger. Traore has done it to everyone but it’s still shocking. It’s time to hang up the boots for our legendary fullback."
Manchester City went on to record a nervy 3-2 win against Marco Silva's side, who looked dangerous in spells.

A late effort from Rodrigo Muniz sparked a nervy finish but the Citizens walked away with all three points. They currently sit in second, just one point behind league leaders Liverpool.
