Liverpool have identified Trent Alexander-Arnold's replacement should he not extend his stay with the club.
The academy graduate has been heavily linked with Real Madrid, where his close friend and England colleague Jude Bellingham has been thriving.
Alexander-Arnold is a massively important player for the Reds and someone who appears to have all the tools to captain his boyhood club one day, particularly with Virgil van Dijk not getting any younger.
But the England international's contract is due to expire in 2025 and Liverpool are understandably desperate to tie him down to fresh terms.

Caught Offside say that Liverpool are in discussions with Alexander-Arnold's camp over a new deal, with the hope of extending until 2028 or 2029.
However, the outlet say that Liverpool are keeping tabs on another right-back in the event that Alexander-Arnold does not pen to paper.
Should he leave Merseyside, it's claimed Liverpool will go after Lutsharel Geertruida.

The 24-year-old plies his trade with Feyenoord and worked under new Reds boss Arne Slot, winning both the KNVB Cup and Eredivisie.
He can also play as a centre-back or even deputise as a defensive midfielder, with his versatility making him even more appealing.
Slot is well in favour of a transfer but Liverpool will not hurry to get the deal done, particularly with the rise of Northern Ireland starlet Conor Bradley last season.
Delaying a move could come back to bite them though, with Paris Saint-Germain and Arsenal also in the race for Geertruida.

Alexander-Arnold is currently enjoying time off after Euro 2024 and is not expected to be part of pre-season preparations to begin with.
Liverpool have jetted out to the United States for a tour, naming 28 players in their travelling part.
Youngster Jayden Danns and Bobby Clark were not included but Mo Salah, Wataru Endo, Dominik Szoboszlai, Andy Robertson, Harvey Elliott and Curtis Jones are all present.
