Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has responded to reports that the Reds are interested in signing Kylian Mbappe on loan from PSG.
The Daily Mirror reported on Saturday that the Reds were preparing a shock proposal for Mbappe, which would see the Frenchman move to Anfield for the 2023/24 season.
It is claimed that Mbappe's previous show of respect for the club, and the fact that his mother - who is also his agent - supports Liverpool, were both seen as signs that a deal could be agreed with the football icon.

The 24-year-old's days at PSG appear to be numbered, with the French giants said to be convinced that he has secretly agreed terms with Real Madrid to join them from 2024.
The mantra, therefore, appears to be to sell the player as quickly as possible - and there has been no shortage of interest.
The only concrete offer at this stage came from Saudi Pro League side Al Hilal. But despite their world-record bid of £259 million being accepted by PSG, ESPN claim that Mbappe had no interest in discussing terms and promptly rejected the move.

That re-opened the door for a possible move to the Premier League, although the cost of the forward on. a permanent deal would almost certainly be considerably out of the Reds' price range.
Klopp has now given his view on the possibility of Liverpool signing Mbappe.

When asked about the Mbappe links, the German responded: "We laugh about it. I can say that I think he's a really good player, but the financial conditions don't suit us at all.
"I wouldn't like to ruin the story now, but as far as I know, there's nothing to it."
He did, however, leave Liverpool fans with a small sliver of optimism: "It's possible that someone else from the club is preparing something and wants to surprise me.
"But that hasn't happened in the eight years that I've been here. That would be the first time."

While it appears a deal for Mbappe will not happen in the immediate future, the Reds are getting closer to another summer signing in midfield.
According to The Telegraph, they are preparing a second bid to sign 19-year-old Southampton star Romeo Lavia, having seen an initial offer rejected by the Championship side.
