Fans addressed the huge elephant in the room after Newcastle beat Liverpool 2-1 to end a 70-year wait for a domestic trophy.
The Magpies won the club's first bit silverware since 1955 courtesy of goals from Dan Burn and Alexander Isak in a momentous day at Wembley on Sunday.
Eddie Howe's side went 1-0 up through giant defender Burn at the end of the first half, as the boyhood Newcastle fan powered in a stunning header from a corner.

Then, early in the second half, talisman Isak doubled the lead with a fine finish from a Jacob Murphy knockdown - just minutes after a rebound strike was ruled out for offside.
Despite a late goal from Federico Chiesa after a VAR check showed he was onside, Newcastle battled tirelessly to get over the line for a special and thoroughly deserved victory in the final .
After suffering Champions League elimination on penalties at the hands of Paris Saint-Germain in midweek, Liverpool were not at the races and bar a few moments, the Premier League leaders could not get going in attack.
Their main man Mo Salah, a Ballon d'Or contender was totally ineffective and after seeing him fail to make an impact on the big occasion, fans were quick to point out that the only goal he has in a final for Liverpool was a penalty against Spurs in 2019.

One fan on X commented: "Mohamed Salah and Finals. We have to have a conversation."
A second said: "Dan Burn with more NPG in finals than Mo Salah."
A third wrote: "Another big game and Salah hasn’t done a single thing."
A fourth agreed: "The last week has summed up why Mo Salah can not be in ballon d’or conversations or put in the all time great category. He is simply not good enough when it matters.

A final user added: "We’ll soon have a serious conversation about Mo Salah. Bro’s been wearing this ghost costume for days."

The result means that Newcastle have guaranteed a place in Europe next season, earning qualification for the Conference League.
However, if they qualify for Europa League or Champions League through the Premier League, the Conference League spot from the Carabao Cup will be passed to the team that finishes seventh or eighth in the table.
