Liverpool are confident that they can complete a sensational deal for Kylian Mbappe next summer, according to fresh reports.
Mbappe was at the centre of a long-winded transfer saga over the summer, after he turned down a new contract at the Parc des Princes amid interest from the Saudi Pro League.
Al Hilal came knocking with a world record £257 million bid for the French superstar in July, but Mbappe was not interested.

He was later banished to the PSG's B-team following a public fall-out with the club's hierarchy, although he has since returned to the senior squad and is a regular starter under new boss Luis Enrique.
It remains to be seen whether Mbappe would reconsider signing a new deal with the Ligue 1 side, who have maintained 'peaceful relations' with the forward and the possibility of an extension is 'not being ruled out', according to L'Equipe.
However, the report adds that Liverpool believe they can take advantage of Mbappe's situation and sign him as a free agent in the summer. That is because the Reds have reportedly 'never broken contact with the player's entourage' since failing to land his signature back in 2017.

Jurgen Klopp was interested in the World Cup winner before his £200 million move to PsSG, while he was still playing for Monaco. Liverpool are said to have held talks with the 24-year-old over a move to Anfield, and have allegedly kept in contact since.
The publication explains that although a move to Merseyside would be a 'surprise', Mbappe will 'carefully consider all options' before making his decision, with Real Madrid remaining firm favourites to sign him.
The player himself has previously revealed that he had held talks with Liverpool over a potential transfer.
He told The Telegraph in 2022: "We talked a little bit. I talked to Liverpool because it's the favourite club of my mum. My mum loves Liverpool. I don't know why, you will have to ask her!

"It's a good club and we met them five years ago. When I was in Monaco I met them. It's a big club."
Mbappe also praised the Reds and manager Jurgen Klopp after they won the Premier League title in 2020: "They have made winning look easy, but the truth is that it is never easy.
"Performances, like they have been having, don't just happen. To be as ruthless as they have been would have come from lots of hard work in training and from having a very good manager."
