Liverpool fans have been left unimpressed by one of their player’s comments ahead of Euro 2023.
The European Championships kicked off on Friday as hosts Germany dispatched Scotland 5-1, the largest opening match victory in the tournament’s history.
Next up Hungary take on Switzerland in Group A, with Liverpool’s Dominik Szoboszlai hoping to be his side’s talisman for the tournament.

However, the 23-year-old, who is set to become the youngest captain in European Championship history on Saturday, has upset a contingent of Liverpool fans with his comments ahead of the game.
As per the Hungary FA, while talking about his campaign leading into the tournament, Szoboszlai said: "I've just finished a difficult season, but since this was my first in the Premier League, I'm not dissatisfied with my performance, although I definitely want to have a better season next time.
“I usually think positively, so it didn't bother me that I played a smaller role at Liverpool at the end of the season.

“At least the chance of injury was lower and I could focus on the European Championship earlier."
Liverpool fans on social media were quick to react to the Hungary star’s comments, which were translated to English from Hungarian, with one person writing on X, formally Twitter: “Hope that's been translated wrong because that statement is absolutely embarrassing if that's what he actually said.”
A second said: “Definitely taken wrong. Everyone needs to calm down.”

A third added: “That attitude has been apparent since about last November.”
A fourth wrote: "Surely this translation is wrong. We were in a title race for the last part of the season and he was pants since the Chelsea game.”
