Liverpool winger Federico Chiesa appears to have spoken out on social media to address reports that he wants to leave in the January transfer window.

As soon as the transfer window opened on Wednesday, rumours began to emerge that Liverpool were considering letting Federico Chiesa leave the club.

But now, Chiesa appears to have responded to rumours that he wants to leave his new club with a post on social media.

Seemingly addressing the rumours on Instagram, Chiesa posted a series of photos of him playing for Liverpool, alongside photos of his family, with a simple caption of the heart emoji.

Reports claiming that the 27-year-old was looking to move away from Liverpool said that he wanted to do so because he was homesick and hoped to move back to Italy.

And, having struggled with fitness during his time at Liverpool, the reports suggested that the Merseyside club were open to facilitating a move should an Italian club show interest.

But now, it appears the Chiesa has sent a message out to all Liverpool fans to say that he is happy at the club and ready to get increase his minutes after recently returning from a period away from the pitch due to an injury.

In total, the Italian has managed has managed just 123 minutes and his yet to score for Liverpool's senior team since his move five months ago.

Despite this, Liverpool manager Arne Slot has urged supporters to remain patient with the forward, claiming that his fitness problems are due to the step up in intensity from Italian football to English.

"If a player is out for five or six months, you cannot expect [him to be at his best straight away]," said Slot after Chiesa's substitute appearance in the EDL Cup win over Southampton.

"Normally in a pre-season a player gets three, four or five games, especially. And then he's only had four or five weeks now he's out for so long, so to get him back to his best level is not easy."
