Mohamed Salah has dropped a major update on his Liverpool contract situation just days before their game against Manchester United.

Salah has been in sensational form this season, scoring an impressive 20 goals across all competitions.

He'll be hoping to add to his 17 Premier League goals when his side face Man United on Sunday.

Ahead of the Anfield clash, Salah sat down with Sky Sports, where he spoke about his contract saga.

He insists this is his last year at the club amid his current deal expiring at the end of the season.

"The first thing on the list was to win the Premier League with Liverpool; I always say the Champions League, but this is the first time I said I really want to win the Premier League with Liverpool. Probably because we didn’t celebrate the one we won with the club in the way we wanted," he explained.

"And coming back here, it’s my last year in the club, and I want to do something special for the city. We waited for that title for 30 years or so, win it, it was the pandemic at that time. We didn’t have time to celebrate it in the right way. Hopefully we can do it this year."

Asked if he really believes this will be his last season at Liverpool, the 32-year-old replied: "So far? Yes. Into the last 6 months, there is no progress there, we're far away from any progress, so we just need to wait and see."

It's not the first time Salah has spoken out about his Liverpool future, having given a revealing post-match interview following his heroics against West Ham United last weekend.

Speaking after the victory at the London Stadium, Arne Slot paid tribute to the star winger, saying: “Mo and the word extraordinary is something I have heard a lot in the last six months. He truly deserves this. He doesn’t surprise us. We know what a player he is and what he is able to do.

"He works really hard aside from that when the opposition team has the ball. I would also add that when he scores the chance is made by other players on the pitch. But when you put him in those positions he is extraordinary.”

Salah, who has been at Liverpool since 2017, has enjoyed a legendary career with the Reds.

He's scored an incredible 231 goals, helping his team to Premier League and Champions League glory.

And the Egyptian will be looking to inspire Liverpool to yet more success this season before potentially parting ways.
