A Liverpool legend brutally admitted he had to Google who Arne Slot was after the Feyenoord manager was linked with a move to Anfield.
Since January, Liverpool have been working around the clock to select the perfect replacement for Jurgen Klopp, who is leaving the club at the end of the season.
The likes of Xabi Alonso, Roberto De Zerbi, Ruben Amorim, Thomas Tuchel and Thomas Frank have all been linked with the job.
Last week, it was reported that Liverpool have chosen Feyenoord boss Slot as the preferred candidate.

It was then claimed that Liverpool and Feyenoord have reached an agreement for Slot to replace Klopp.
Writing in his column for Daily Mirror, Reds legend Robbie Fowler admitted he had to Google about Slot.
He said: “I’ll be honest, I hadn’t a clue Slot was even in the conversation among the power brokers who run Liverpool.
“He wasn’t someone who jumped out at me as a candidate. In fact, I knew nothing about Slot at all or the way he plays and, probably like many people, I dived into Google to check him out.”

Fowler continued: “He’s done OK at Feyenoord the last couple of seasons, but only time will tell if he can take Liverpool to greater heights than Klopp managed.
“That will be a tall order, but the more pressing problem for Liverpool is getting some stability back into players feeling the effects of Jurgen’s imminent departure.”
Speaking about Slot joining Liverpool, fellow Reds legend Jamie Carragher said: “From Feyenoord to Liverpool is a huge jump and I think it shows at this moment that there's probably a dearth of real top managers out there, when you look at who Liverpool are going for.

“Initially it was Xabi Alonso - it's only his first full season as a manager - then there was talk of Ruben Amorim from Sporting, who's only 39. Now Arne Slot is the favourite.”
