And now, teammate Robertson has become the first player at the club to adresss the comments, and he has made his stance on the situation clear.
Speaking ahead of Liverpool's Champions League clash with Real Madrid, Robertson said: "For us as players it's nothing we can get involved in.
"All I can say is: look at Mo today, yesterday, he's the ultimate professional. It goes for all three of them, Virgil and Trent too, they are so focused on the next game and being leaders."

Liverpool manager Arne Slot also spoke out about the incident, assuring fans that nobody at the club is concerned or distracted by it, certainly not Salah himself.
He said: "I don't think Mo is distracted at all. He just keeps on scoring. He is fully focused. The media and fans talk about it but at the AXA I didn't see anyone talking about it."
The Scotsman is the first current Liverpool player to speak about Salah's comments, after former player Jamie Carragher spoke out against the winger on Monday.

“I must say, I am very disappointed with Mo Salah,” Carragher said on Sky Sports’ MNF.
“[With] that interview yesterday…Liverpool have got Real Madrid midweek and Manchester City at the weekend – that’s the story for Liverpool right now.
“And Mo Salah, we’re all quite aware…that in the seven years he has been at the football club, he’s stopped in the mixed zone twice, which is his right, which is absolutely fine.
“But he decided to stop for the third time away at Southampton on the back of winning Liverpool the game.”
