Real Madrid has been dealt a huge injury blow as the club confirms Jude Bellingham’s layoff.
On Saturday, Bellingham scored twice as Los Blancos extended their lead at the top of La Liga with a 4-0 win over Girona.
Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo were also on the scoresheet as Madrid now lead La Liga by five points.

However, Madrid were left sweating over Bellingham’s injury after he was taken off in the 57th minute, replaced by Brahim Diaz.
Manager Carlo Ancelotti said: “Bellingham picked up a sprained ankle, they'll assess him tomorrow. I hope we can have him fit for Tuesday. There are games he hasn't been involved in and others have come in and contributed a lot, like Brahim and Joselu. We broke records for injuries today with four centre-backs out.”
With the crucial Champions League last 16 tie against RB Leipzig on the horizon, Madrid have confirmed the extent of Bellingham’s injury.

According to transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano, Bellingham could be out for two to three weeks.
He wrote on social media: “Jude Bellingham has been diagnosed with a high-grade sprain in his left ankle and he will miss the upcoming games.
“Real Madrid staff see Jude out for 2-3 weeks, hoping for his return for the Leipzig match on March 7th.”

Speaking after his side’s victory against Girona, Ancelotti compared Bellingham to France legend Zinedine Zidane.
The Italian said: “They are similar. They have unbelievable quality.

“Zidane was excellent technically, Bellingham is incredible at arriving at the box. His movement in the first goal, very few can do that.”
