Jose Mourinho crunched by Fenerbahce player in training as ex-Man Utd player comments 'well deserved'

He posted the footage on Instagram.

Jose Mourinho learned a valuable lesson in Fenerbahce training this week after he was "kicked from behind" by one of his players.

Since joining Fenerbahce in June, 'The Special One' has been working 12-hour days in a bid to take them back to the top. In fact, Mourinho claims that he has been sleeping at the training ground at night so that he "doesn't waste time" in his quest.

“I sleep at the club so I don’t waste time," he said last month. "Istanbul is a beautiful city, but I didn’t come here on holiday, I came to work. Everyone in the club does this, we have a good working environment."

Mourinho added: “I always try to instil and explain this to people: I can be successful from time to time, but when things go well you don’t go to the moon, and when things go bad you don’t go to hell. This is my philosophy. I work hard."

This week, the former Manchester United and Real Madrid manager was involved in training ahead of Fenerbahce's Super Lig clash against Trabzonspor, although he didn't finish the session after being kicked from behind by midfielder Ismail Yuksek.

To his credit. Mourinho found the funny side, posting the footage on his Instagram alongside the caption: "Lesson to young coaches. Never wear same colour as players. They can pass you the ball….or kick you from behind."

After tagging Fenerbahce midfielder Yuksek in the Instagram post, he also mentioned Marouane Fellaini and Marash Kumbulla; two players he managed at Manchester United and Roma respectively.

The reason why is unclear but we can only assume that Fellaini and Kumbulla collided with Mourinho previously.

Thousands of people commented on the footage, including former Manchester United, Chelsea and Roma midfielder Nemanja Matic, who wrote: "Well deserved."

Mourinho recently opened up on his next potential career move.

"The best thing I have to do is when I leave Fener is that I go to a club that doesn’t play in UEFA competition," he said. "So a club at the bottom in England who needs a coach in two years, I’m ready to go. I don’t want to speak anymore about it. I want to speak about the game."

But he performed somewhat of a u-turn during an interview with Sky Sports, although he did mention being tempted by Championship side Millwall.

"I made a joke," he said. "I'm never going to a team fighting relegation. I will never go. I get upset, and I'm not in the period of my career to get upset. I'm in the period of my career to be happy all the time and at this moment playing in European competitions, I am getting upset all the time.

"But I'm not going to fight relegation. It's too hard. Honestly, I believe that has to be the hardest thing. It's more difficult than playing for titles. It has to be very hard emotionally, because it's something that changes lives. I think it's brave guys that do it... Millwall. Millwall. I just cross the bridge from my house. Millwall."
