Gabriel becomes first Arsenal player to post message to fans on social media after crushing Man Utd defeat

Gabriel has addressed Arsenal's defeat to Manchester United.

Gabriel has reacted to Arsenal's crushing FA Cup defeat to Manchester United with a defiant message to their fans on social media.

Arsenal were dumped out of the FA Cup following their penalty shootout defeat to Man United at the Emirates on Sunday.

Gabriel scored to level proceedings following Bruno Fernandes' opener, with Martin Odegaard spurning a golden opportunity from the spot to put his side in the lead.

Kai Havertz fluffed his lines in the shootout as the player's wife shared sickening death threats he received in the wake of the cup exit.

It's now back-to-back cup defeats for Arsenal, who also succumbed to Newcastle United in the Carabao Cup semi-final first-leg.

But Gabriel has issued a rallying cry to the Arsenal fanbase, claiming they will come back stronger.

On Instagram, he shared a video of his goal, accompanied with the caption: "Always a great feeling to score at the emirates!! We will come back stronger for the challenges ahead of us."

Mikel Arteta bemoaned the outcome of the FA Cup clash as he believes his side didn't get what they deserved.

"Incredible how we didn’t win the game, that’s basically to sum up, the dominance, the superiority in relation to the opposition and everything we did to try to win the game and that’s it, we didn’t get what we deserve clearly, but there is an element about putting the ball in the back of the net, we did it once, with the amount of situations, chances, penalties that we had, we didn’t," he said in his post-match conference.

"We go home extremely sad but I cannot be prouder of my players, the team, individually, collectively what they have produced, on Wednesday night against Newcastle, against two top teams, it’s incredible. We haven’t got rewarded and that’s the downside to it."

Arsenal, who dropped points in their last league outing, continue to fight on three fronts as the Gunners resume their Premier League campaign on Wednesday when they host cross-town rivals Tottenham.
