England fans have named the one player they want called up after triple injury blow

England fans have named the one player they want called up after triple injury blow

England are set to take on Greece and Finland this month.

England fans are all in agreement on who Lee Carsley should call up after suffering a triple injury blow.

Over the next week, the Three Lions will resume their UEFA Nations League campaign with matches against Greece and Finland.

Carsley, who was put in temporary charge after Gareth Southgate’s departure, enjoyed a stellar start to life as England boss after tasting victory against Ireland and Finland last month.

Ahead of the latest international break, England were hit with not one but three injury blows.

On Monday evening, it was reported that Kobbie Mainoo, Ezri Konsa and Morgan Gibbs-White had all pulled out of the squad.

Reacting to the news, Three Lions fans have urged Carsley to call up Aston Villa star Morgan Rogers, who has impressed under the guidance of Unai Emery.

In seven Premier League matches so far in the 24/25 season, Rogers has registered one goal and two assists.

On social media, one fan said: “Perfect chance to call up Morgan Rogers.”

Another tweeted: “Call up Morgan Rogers.”

A third fan added: “Every club is protecting their players, but I think this is an opportunity to Morgan Rogers, the guy is just so good. Playing him in the u21s is not okay at all.”

Someone else wrote: “Morgan Rogers time.”

However, it was also confirmed that there are currently no plans to add to the squad.

A statement on the England website read: “Morgan Gibbs-White, Ezri Konsa and Kobbie Mainoo will miss England’s October internationals. The trio all sustained injuries for their respective clubs over the weekend and have been ruled out of the Three Lions’ UEFA Nations League fixtures against Greece and Finland.

“All other 22 players are at St. George’s Park with no further additions planned at this time.”

Last month, Villa boss Emery spoke about Rogers’ England career, he said: “My opinion hasn’t changed. He’s 22 years old. He can play for the Under-21s. It’s not his place.

“Now, he’s playing at a level to be an option for the seniors. Not for the Under-21s. Clearly, clearly - 100 per cent. I have to respect it. But I don’t agree.”
