Fans disgusted as Dutch FA propose five rule changes to football that would change the sport forever

The Dutch FA are proposing some huge rule changes to the game.

Fans have been left in disbelief over the Dutch FA's proposal to make FIVE major rule changes to football.

Radical rule changes have been proposed to the game since the introduction of VAR.

Former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has proposed a huge change to the offside rule, having been vocal about making changes in the past.

And the Dutch FA seem to be on the same page as Wenger as they have proposed not one but FIVE major rules changes.

So, they want kick-ins instead of throw-ins and sin bins - a protocol which has been discussed by the International Football Association Board.

The Dutch FA also want to allow self passes from free-kicks and flying substitutions.

Finally, they are pushing for a net playing time - likely 60 minutes in play.

Needless to say, fans on social media couldn't believe the set of rule changes the Dutch FA have proposed as they slammed the idea.

One X user wrote: "That is disgusting."

A second argued: "1, 3 & 5 would improve the game. Would speed the game up, reduce time wasting, and benefit the attacking team after cynical fouls."

A third joked: "The Dutch FA need to self-pass themselves into the sin bin."

A fourth added: "Only one sensible is 5. We tried massive injury time, and it’s still inconsistent. Rest of them are straight out the Wenger school of nonsense."

A fifth said: "Interesting. There's a balance between innovation and interfering for the sake of it - I don't think there are ridiculous ideas here - no 5. Appeals most (would you run the clock alongside 90 min one? aka how to call HT). 1 & 3 would make the game faster pace - less breathers."

Another commented: "It baffles me why these associations are constantly looking to change the game like something is wrong with it."
