Victoria Beckham has spoken about the brutal chants that were directed at her during David Beckham’s illustrious football career.
During a career that spanned more than 20 years, Beckham played for some of the biggest clubs in world football including the likes of Manchester United, Real Madrid, Paris Saint Germain and AC Milan.
This week, Beckham’s Netflix documentary ‘Beckham’ is due to be released.
Speaking in the documentary, Victoria recalled the vile 'Posh Spice takes it up the a**e' chants she was faced with.

As per the Daily Star, she said: “Posh Spice takes it up the a**e! Excuse my language, not very lady-like. 75,000 people were singing that. It’s embarrassing, it’s hurtful.
“I remember sitting down and the lady sitting next to me turning to me, she said ‘do you want a polo?’ She didn’t know what to say! Do I want a polo? What do you say when you’re sat next to someone and 75,000 people say you take it up the a**e! We did not know what to do, it felt like we were drowning.”
Beckham said he used the chants as motivation, he said: “As hard as it was looking up to the stands and seeing Victoria, it was the one thing that spurred me on.
“When fans felt like they could get to me by singing hurtful things about my family, I would score a goal.”

Victoria then revealed the threats her family faced during Beckham’s career.
She said: “We were getting kidnapping threats right from when we had Brooklyn.
“I can’t explain how that feels, because you can’t hide. These are all things that are coming back to me. I am finding it quite stressful doing these interviews with you because I have blocked so much of it out, and David had too. But now it’s coming back to me.”

Victoria continued: “Imagine having a baby and having death threats. David had to play knowing this was all going on. I was on my own, in an apartment with a baby. So I would go to the games with Brooklyn. The abuse is hard to explain.”
