Levi Colwill stopped celebrating his Chelsea goal after he realised it was scored against Brighton and Hove Albion.
After yet another poor start to the season, Mauricio Pochettino’s Chelsea side were looking to record a victory against Brighton.
Argentine midfielder Enzo Fernandez netted in the 17th minute to give the Blues a 1-0 lead.
Less than five minutes later, Colwill scored to make it 2-0 from a corner.

After the goal was given, Colwill ran off with his hand in the air but stopped celebrating and held his hands up apologetically as he realised he had scored against Brighton.
Colwill spent the 22/23 season on loan at Brighton and produced a string of impressive performances at the heart of the Seagulls defence.
During the summer transfer window, the AMEX club looked to lure Colwill back to the south coast on a permanent transfer but Chelsea refused to let him go.
Since then, he has become a vital part of Pochettino’s defence in the new season.
Upon leaving Brighton, Colwill took to social media and wrote: “To Brighton and Hove Albion. I am proud to have played a small part in the clubs success last season. You gave me an opportunity to play in the Premier League when no one else did.

“I thank Graham Potter for first bringing me to the club and to all the employees at the stadium and training ground for making it a great place to perform and develop.”
He continued: “To the fans, you’ve always had my back! Since I got into the side, your continuous support made me feel comfortable to play the way I wanted to play and not fear about making mistakes.
“You gave me a platform to shine and show my ability in the best league of the world. I will never forget that you supported me. Lastly Roberto De Zerbi, you challenged me every day! You made me think and see football in a different way. I cannot thank you enough. Thank you again. LC.”
