The Blues currently sit in tenth place within the top flight of English football, as Mauricio Pochettino struggles to get the best out of the extensive squad co-owner Todd Boehly has provided him with.

The club have spent over £1billion since the America investor assumed control at Stamford Bridge from previous owner Roman Abramovich, with the likes of Raheem Sterling, Enzo Fernandez, Wesley Fofana and Moises Caicedo - as well as many others - all arriving through the door.

The Blues suffered a resounding 4-1 defeat at Anfield in their last fixture, which could have been much worse, if it wasn't for the lack of a clinical edge Darwin Nunez displayed on the evening.

The Uruguayan hit the woodwork on four different occasions, one being from the penalty spot.

Chelsea will meet Jurgen Klopp's side once again later in the month, as they face off in the Carabao Cup final at Wembley Stadium on February 25.

Despite silverware being a real possibility, fans are growing increasingly more frustrated with the performances of the club - given the amount spent on transfers across recent seasons.

Frustrations that they are now aiming towards the players, with two key members of the first team squad deactivating their X (formerly Twitter) accounts following the abuse they received from their fans.

Ecuadorian midfielder Caicedo and Argentinian World Cup winner Fernandez are the two players who removed themselves from social media. Fernandez joined from Benfica in a £103million deal in January 2023, while Caicedo sealed a £100m switch from Brighton and Hove Albion last summer.

Chelsea will now face Wolverhampton Wanderers on Sunday in their next fixture, as Pochettino and his squad look to get back to winning ways in the Premier League.
