A former Chelsea starlet has become a multi-millionaire within a year after calling time on his career.

Marko Mitrovic was tipped for success after joining Chelsea's youth academy back in 2008.

He made his name at Malmo where he scored a staggering 97 goals in 33 matches for the club's under-16s.

But his Chelsea career failed to get going, having initially impressed for their under-18s.

The Swedish forward left Stamford Bridge and went onto play for teams in Italy, the Netherlands, Denmark, Serbia and Portugal before retiring from football.

However, Mitrovic made himself a fortune by founding the company Arktis Naturals - now a leading global producer of CBD products.

And per Sportbladet, he is now multi-millionaire through the business.

CBD and THC are the two main elements that make up marijuana.

CBD is used to optimise sleep, recovery, pain relief, stress management and brain health.

Mitrovic's CBD brand offers premium products designed for sports and active lifestyles, aiming to help athletes.

He's helped propel Arktis Naturals in the CBD world, which has become a leading brand in health and wellness.

His company is projected to turn over £5 million and £15 million next year.

Mitrovic, who now lives in Dubai, was recommended CBD during his injury-plagued career.

"It was an incredible difference," he told Sportbladet. "Huge advantages compared to how I had been before. It was... spectacular.

"I think there is a legitimate medicine here. We are talking about something that can really help people."

Mitrovic added: "First of all, I am referring to personal experiences. I can in and of itself point to the research that has been done to back up what I'm saying, but so far most of those studies have been done on mice.

"So I content myself with referring to personal experiences, personal experiences.

"I have my own story, but above all I can refer those who are interested to those who have tried our products. In Sweden alone, we have 30,000 customers, who are as happy as can be."
