Chelsea fans think its 'over' for two players after hearing what Enzo Maresca said in his first club interview

Chelsea fans think its 'over' for two players after hearing what Enzo Maresca said in his first club interview

Chelsea fans are convinced it's 'over' for two players after Enzo Maresca gave his first interview for the club.

Chelsea fans think it's 'over' for TWO players after hearing what Enzo Maresca said in his first interview for the club.

Chelsea appointed Maresca to replace Mauricio Pochettino, who left Stamford Bridge at the end of last season by mutual consent.

The Italian takes the hot-seat at Chelsea, having guided Leicester City back to the Premier League - winning the Championship title in the process.

On Monday, he conducted his first interview as Chelsea manager as fans think he 'bodied' Pep Guardiola with a subtle dig following their time together at Manchester City.

And Maresca gave a telling answer when he was asked about how much he was looking forward to getting onto the training pitch with the players for pre-season.

"It’s very important because we need to know each other," he said. "I already feel I know all of them to be honest because I’ve watched so many games in the last two or three weeks. So feel I know all of them."

Chelsea supporters on social media are convinced Ben Chilwell and Raheem Sterling are on the chopping block after hearing what the 44-year-old said.

One X user wrote: "It’s over for Chilwell and Sterling."

A second tweeted: "Who else noticed the look on his face?? Man got PTSD right in the spot from Sterling and Chilwell's clips..."

A third added: "Great interview from Enzo, just hope he doesn’t change his principles and sells the English dross asap (Chilwell, Gallagher, Sterling, Gilchrist and Chalobah)."

Another commented: "'I have watched a lot of games...' Chilwell and Sterling in trouble."

Chilwell made 21 appearances in all competitions last season as he had an injury-hit campaign.

As for Sterling, he scored a measly 10 goals in 43 matches across all competitions last season and notably had a disastrous showing for the Blues against the Foxes in the FA Cup.

Maresca could offload Chilwell and Sterling ahead of the new season getting underway.
