Fans are only just realising who the last manager to beat Real Madrid in a European final was.
Real Madrid won a record-extending 15th Champions League on Saturday, beating Borussia Dortmund 2-0 at Wembley courtesy of goals from Dani Carvajal and Vinicius Jr.
Of course, despite Dortmund having the better of much of the encounter, Real Madrid’s record in the competition made the result appear a formality.

Indeed, the last team to beat Real in the European Cup/Champions League final was Liverpool back in 1981.
Furthermore, the last time Los Blancos lost in any major European final was Aberdeen in the 1983 European Cup Winners' Cup Final.
That day the Scottish outfit was managed by Sir Alex Ferguson, who would go on to become the greatest manager in Manchester United history.

Fans were quick to react to the stat on social media, with one person on X simply saying: “Blimey” and another adding: “The goat has entered the chat.”
A third person wrote: “My G.O.A.T, he is my football icon...he is him, not enough words to describe how I feel for this old man.”
A fourth said: “GOAT Manager for a reason! Oh, and He did it with Aberdeen.”
Upon winning the Champions League for a fifth time, Real boss Ancelotti said: “There is no danger in that respect of us having a full belly, if you like.

“In this club, there is a continuous demand. We are never satisfied. We will have a fantastic day with our fans tomorrow.
“Then we will go to rest, my players will be at Euros and Copa America. We will come back with the same eagerness and excitement as before.”
On the retiring Toni Kroos, Ancelotti added: “I am really grateful to him. He has finished at the very top.

“There is no way of finishing in a higher position than this. He had the balls to finish it. He is a legend in this club and all the Real Madrid fans are grateful to him for what he has done – not only for his game, but his attitude or professionalism.
“I said to him, ‘We are waiting if you change your mind, we are still here.’”
