Liverpool's Champions League clash with AC Milan won't be shown on TNT Sports, and the reason has been revealed.
The Champions League returns on Tuesday night as several of Europe's best clubs, including Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Juventus, get back in action in the brand new format.
After spending a season playing in the Europa League, Liverpool will make their return to the competition as they face Italian giants AC Milan at the San Siro stadium.

However, for the first time in nearly a decade, the game will not be shown live on TNT Sports, for one specific reason.

Instead, the match will be shown live on Amazon Prime Video, who this season will exclusively show 17 Champions League matches.

Amazon secured a deal in July 2022 to share the broadcast rights for the European competition with TNT Sports, who will still broadcast the majority of Champions League matches.
The deal gives Amazon the ability to pick one match every Tuesday to be shown on the streaming platform.
In the first matchweek, they opted for Liverpool's tie against AC Milan ahead of Aston Villa's return to the competition or defending champions Real Madrid's tie against Stuttgart.
“The addition of UEFA Champions League football is a truly momentous moment for Prime Video in the UK,” said Alex Green, managing director of Prime Video Sport Europe.

The streaming giants have also selected four other games to be shown on the platform in the coming weeks, all of which include Premier League clubs.
Arsenal's home matches against Paris Saint-Germain and Shakhtar Donetsk in the second and third rounds next month will both be shown on Prime, with Liverpool's exciting tie with Xabi Alonso's Beyer Leverkusen in November also selected.
The final game currently scheduled to be show on Prime is Premier League champions Manchester City's match against Dutch side Feyenoord.

Three more matches will be shown on Amazon Prime in December and January, but they are yet to be decided.
The BBC have also acquired the rights to show highlights of each week's Champions League fixtures on terrestrial television on Wednesday nights during the midweek edition of Match of the Day hosted by Mark Chapman.
