Why Ryan Reynolds and Taylor Swift have been mentioned in Blake Lively's lawsuit against Justin Baldoni

Why Ryan Reynolds and Taylor Swift have been mentioned in Blake Lively's lawsuit against Justin Baldoni

Blake Liveley's lawsuit against former co-star Justin Baldoni includes mentions of husband Ryan Reynolds and Taylor Swift.

Ryan Reynolds and Taylor Swift are two of the A-List celebrities mentioned in Blake Liveley's lawsuit against co-star Justin Baldoni.

The two worked together on the film It Ends With Us but did not do much press alongside one another during the film's release and it is starting to make sense after Lively filed a lawsuit, accusing Baldoni of sexual harassment and creating a hostile work environment when directing on set and causing 'severe emotional distress' for the Gossip Girl star and her family as a result.

In addition, the 80-page lawsuit, obtained by the New York Times, alleges that Baldoni tried to mount a smear campaign against her and 'destroy' her reputation.

The lawsuit includes a number of big celebrities being referred to in a document attached the complaint highlighted an alleged PR plan conjured up by Baldoni's team - with Liveley's other half Reynolds featured.

It's said that Wrexham co-owner Reynolds, who has four children with Lively, was mentioned by Baldoni's team a few months back.

They prepared a scenario in the event that the Canadian, who purchased the League One side for £2 million in 2021 with Rob McElhenney, came forward and defended his wife upon her speaking out about her experiences working with Baldoni.

A statement was not advised, with other strategies devised in a bid to protect Baldoni's public image following on from the on-set controversy.

As detailed, Baldoni claimed Reynolds, who is very active on multiple platforms, blocked him and his production company Wayfarer Studios on social media off the back of the controversy.

The complaint from Lively alleged that Baldini texted his publicist Jennifer Abel: "We should have a plan for IF she does the same [blocks Baldini[ when (the) movie comes out."

He told his team to get ahead of the curve, explaining that, "plans make me feel more at ease".

Pop sensation Taylor Swift, a close friend of Lively's, is also mentioned in the lawsuit - namely in concerns from Baldoni's that Lively's fanbase crossed over with the passionate 'Swifties' who follow the Cool Summer singer.

The two were together at the Super Bowl this year as Swift cheered on her boyfriend Travis Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs in their overtime win over the San Francisco 49ers in Las Vegas.

An email allegedly read: "We have seen the most innocuous issues turn giant due to socials or the hugest crises have no effect on social whatsoever.

"You just cannot tell at this stage. But BL does have some of the same TS fanbase so we will be taking it extremely seriously."

Later at the very end of the document, where scenario planning for any "negative messaging" from Lively and Reynolds is discussed, the possibility of planting stories about the two appears to brought up.

The document stated: "Our team can also explore planting stories about the weaponisation of feminism and how people like Taylor Swift, have been accused of utilising these tactics to 'bully' into getting what they want."
