Bayern Munich have identified a new top target to replace current boss Thomas Tuchel - and it is not former midfielder Xabi Alonso.
The managerial merry-go-round is set to continue this summer, with Bayern the latest club to announce that they are on the lookout for a fresh face in the dugout.
Tuchel, who was appointed to the role back in 2023, is set to leave the club at the end of the 2023/24 campaign after falling ten points behind Bundesliga leaders Bayer Leverkusen.

While several names have been mentioned as possible replacements, it appeared that Leverkusen boss and former Bayern man Alonso was the frontrunner to succeed Tuchel.
However, the latest development at the Bavarian club has seen a fresh name emerge as a frontrunner for the role.
Italian outlet la Repubblica have reported that former Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur boss Antonio Conte is now the 'first name' on Bayern's list.

Conte has reportedly been contacted in recent months and is a 'priority' for the German giants. Although, negotiations will not be easy, with the Italian also being linked with Manchester United and reigning Serie A champions Napoli.
The 54-year-old has been out of work since leaving North London in 2023 and if he was to accept the role with Bayern, it would be the first time he has managed in Germany across his illustrious 18-year career on the sidelines.
His record speaks for itself in terms of his achievements, with one Premier League title, one FA Cup and four Serie A titles.

The news will likely come as a huge boost for Liverpool, who had also identified Alonso as the frontrunner to takeover this summer.
