An injury update on Arsenal star Gabriel Martinelli has been delivered after the winger was forced off against Newcastle United.
On Wednesday night, the Gunners fell to a 2-0 defeat at St. James' Park as Newcastle sealed a 4-0 aggregate win to advance to the final of the Carabao Cup.
Jacob Murphy and Anthony Gordon were the scorers as Eddie Howe's men secured a brilliant win.

As a result, Newcastle will now take on Liverpool in the final at Wembley on March 16. Arne Slot's men overturned a 1-0 deficit against Tottenham Hotspur by winning 4-0 at Anfield on Thursday night, with Cody Gakpo, Mohamed Salah, Dominik Szoboszlai and Virgil van Dijk all getting on the scoresheet.
To make matters worse for Mikel Arteta, winger Martinelli was forced off in the 37th minute due to injury and replaced by Ethan Nwaneri.
Speaking after the match, the Gunners boss said: "So we will have to have a MRI scan tomorrow to see the extent of the injury."
On Friday evening, The Athletic's David Ornstein provided a worrying update.

He wrote on social media: "Gabriel Martinelli faces more than a month on sidelines with hamstring injury suffered in Arsenal loss at #NUFC. Early indications suggest 23yo winger set to miss #AFC PL games vs #LCFC #WHUFC #NFFC & potentially #MUFC #CFC + #UCL last-16."
Arsenal had looked to add more attacking options to their squad during the January transfer window, with the likes of Benjamin Sesko, Bryan Mbeumo and Ollie Watkins all linked.
However, nothing materialised and Arteta will have to think on his feet to solve his injury issues.
