Arsenal have agreed personal terms with a second summer signing who they want to replace a potential outgoing player.
The Gunners have made just the one signing so far, bringing in Italy and Bologna defender Riccardo Calafiori for a fee of £42 million.
They are looking to pick up business with further incomings before the transfer window concludes and there is an update on the goalkeeping situation.

Transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano says Arsenal have a verbal agreement with Espanyol goalkeeper Joan Garcia.
The club are yet to lodge a bid but Espanyol are well aware of Arsenal's interest in the Spaniard, who they see as the perfect understudy to compatriot David Raya in the event Aaron Ramsdale leaves.
And that departure looks very possible with David Ornstein claiming Wolves have made a proposal for the England shotstopper.

The arrangement would be for a loan deal with an option to buy, with Wolves covering the majority of his wages even though they feel it could be a difficult deal to complete.
Ramsdale has also courted interest from Ajax, though Arsenal rejected their advances earlier in the window.
Southampton are also interested in Ramsdale, whose contract at the Emirates Stadium runs until at least 2026.

Ramsdale signed for Arsenal for a fee of £30 million in 2021 and was named in the PFA Team of the Year in 2023.
Yet he was displaced by Raya at the start of last season and had to make do with being back-up goalkeeper for the North London club.
In addition, Arsenal are currently in dialogue with another Premier League club over one of their fringe players.

Nottingham Forest have had a bid of £25 million rejected by Arsenal for Eddie Nketiah.
Arsenal want at least £30 million for the striker, who had agreed personal terms with Marseille but a transfer fee couldn't be agreed.
