Arsenal dropped more points in the Premier League title race on Saturday.

Arsenal fans have called on manager Mikel Arteta to drop one player after their side's 0-0 draw with Everton on Saturday.

The result is another two points dropped for the Gunners in their battle for the Premier League title.

They missed the opportunity to close the gap to leaders Liverpool, who drew 2-2 with Fulham at Anfield.

Arsenal dominated possession at the Emirates Stadium, with 76 per cent of the ball, but only had 13 shots on Jordan Pickford's goal.

Everton, meanwhile, had just two shots on goal throughout the entire contest, but defended resolutely and earned a fourth clean sheet in five matches.

Arsenal remain six points behind Liverpool at the top of the table, but Arne Slot's side have a game in hand. They are also a point behind second-placed Chelsea, who host Brentford on Sunday.

The Gunners now play Crystal Palace twice in a week - once in the Carabao Cup - before Christmas, and Arsenal fans asre keen for Arteta to make an attacking change.

Gabriel Martinelli struggled on the left side of attack against Toffees full-back Ashley Young, and now hasn't scored or assisted in his last four games.

He didn't complete a dribble and was dispossessed twice.

Taking to Twitter, one fan wrote: "Every Martinelli touch is an Everton counter attack so far."

A second wrote: "Raheem Sterling will be more effective on the wing than Martinelli every day."

A third claimed: "Everybody gets the blame for Martinelli's form except Martinelli himself."

And a fourth added: "Gabriel Martinelli welcome to the Ashley Young penitentiary."

The Brazilian was criticised by Arsenal legend Paul Merson after he was adjudged to be offside against Fulham, thus ruling out what would have been a late winner for the Gunners in their 1-1 draw.

Bukayo Saka scored but Martinelli was offside in the build-up to the goal, causing VAR to rule it out.

He said: "You can't be offside. You're looking along the line. He's got pace, he's electric - he's not someone who has to nick a yard.

"I'd be surprised if he isn't on the end of one in the dressing room from the manager, honestly. You look down the line, do not be offside. It's as simple as that."
