Liverpool manager Arne Slot described Alisson as the best goalkeeper in the world after the Brazilian produced an all-time great Champions League performance to stop PSG, but is he really the best?
Alisson made nine saves against Luis Enrique's side, his joint-most in a Champions League game and the most on record by a Liverpool goalkeeper in the competition, as the Reds produced a smash and grab 1-0 win.
After the full-time whistle on Wednesday night, the 32-year-old said it was "probably the performance of my life" as French publication L'Equipe handed him a rare 9/10 rating for his efforts.

But where does Alisson rank in the top 10 goalkeepers debate? We've put together a list based on performances this season, as well as their importance to their respective teams and overall standing in the game.
Here are our top 10 goalkeepers in the world right now.
10. Gianluigi Donnarumma
Take recency bias out of the equation and Donnarumma remains one of the best shot-stoppers in the world, even if he failed to stop Harvey Elliott from scoring the winner on Wednesday night.

The Italian has had his critics since moving to Paris Saint-Germain in 2021 but on his day, the 26-year-old is unbeatable.
9. Manuel Neuer
The ultimate sweeper keeper. Neuer has revolutionised the art of goalkeeping since arriving on the scene in 2005. He's still a vital cog for Bayern, even after a lengthy absence with a broken leg that threatened to derail his career.
The German remains the only goalkeeper in European football to win the treble of domestic league, domestic cup and UEFA Champions League twice.
8. Ederson
Ederson's recent form for Manchester City has been erratic, to say the least. His performances of late have been taken into account for this list but the Brazilian's distribution remains second-to-none.

At his best, there isn't a goalkeeper out there who suits Pep Guardiola's system more.
7. Marcin Bulka
One of the most complete, and underrated, goalkeepers in world football right now.
His distribution and shot stopping stats at Ligue 1 side Nice place him firmly in the elite category. Expect plenty of suitors when the summer window rolls around.

Bulka ranks highly for save percentage [74.2%] and crosses stopped [8.9%] on FBref.

6. Marc-Andre Ter Stegen
Wojciech Szczesny's superb performance against Benfica on Wednesday has raised eyebrows over Ter Stegen's position as Barcelona number one but the German contintues to rank highly when it comes to save success rate and clean sheets.
5. Emiliano Martinez
A World Cup and Copa America winner with Argentina and a leader in between the sticks for Aston Villa, Martinez has one of the best save success rates in the Champions League this season.

He was recently named the Best FIFA Men's Goalkeeper for the second time in three years. Oh, and he's the king of mind games.
4. Yann Sommer
After recording the highest save percentage of any goalkeeper in the Champions League in 2023-24, Sommer has carried that form into the current campaign.
Inter Milan's number one is top when it comes to save success rate in Europe's elite competition [95.5%].

3. Jan Oblak
Widely regarded as one of La Liga's greatest goalkeepers, Oblak has been a mainstay under Diego Simeone at Atletico Madrid. Reliable, good with his feet and one of the commanding goalkeepers around. An obvious choice.
2. Thibaut Courtois
After tearing his meniscus last year, Courtois has put his injury woes behind him in emphatic fashion.
He continues to be a huge presence for Madrid and ranks in the 93rd percentile for goals against and save percentage on FBref.
1. Alisson
The best one-on-one goalkeeper in the world. Time and time again, Alisson proves his worth for Liverpool with game-winning performances in all competitions. A crucial cog in their league-leading campaign this season.
